Listen for the situation
Listen to the announcement once to understand the situation. Then listen again for the changed opening time, the return location, and the meeting point. You can use the English passage for read-aloud practice. The announcement is a fictional learning example.
Hello, this is a message from the Westbridge Library. On Tuesday, the library will open at eleven in the morning, not at nine, because workers are repairing the main door. You can return books before eleven using the box beside the side entrance. Our free study-skills talk will begin at two in the afternoon in Room Four. Please bring a notebook. If you are joining the library tour, meet your guide at the information desk at three. Thank you.
Note only the useful details
Write short notes rather than every word. A correction such as eleven, not nine is especially important: the first familiar time may not be the final answer. Separate the opening time from the times of later events.
